Lim Bo Seng Memorial is dedicated to a World War 2 hero named Lim Bo Seng. He was named as Major General Lim Boh Seng. He had taken such an active part in anti-Japanese activities that the authorities had considered banishing him.
       In 1943, Lim Bo Seng returned to Perak to join the guerillas but was caught by the Japanese was put in the Ipoh Prison at Batu Gajah and there he was unmercilessly tortured. In the end, he died on 29th June 1944 while succumbed under the immense suffering and was buried in a shallow grave in the jungle near the prison.
